What Holt stores about you, why, and who else ever sees it.

What we collect
Your email address (to sign you in and reach you about your account); your language progress and answers (which skills you know, what you got right or wrong, your calibration answers, the cards and lessons you've seen); and basic usage events (when you studied, which features you opened). We do not collect payment details yet — Holt has no paid tier in this early-access period.
Why we collect it
Your progress data is the whole point of Holt: it drives the adaptive engine that decides what to teach you next and grades whether you're actually holding onto it. Your email authenticates you and lets us reach you about your account. Usage events help us fix what's broken and see whether the product actually works.
Who else processes it
A short, real list — no hidden ad-tech chain: • Supabase — our database and authentication, hosted in the EU (eu-central-1 region). • Resend — sends the email sign-in links you request. • Vercel — hosts the web app you're reading this on. • OpenRouter — routes your practice answers and skill context to language models to generate and check learning content (cards, lessons, hints). It receives what's needed to write that content, not your email or account identifiers.
What we never do
No advertising, no ad trackers, no selling or renting your data to anyone, no third party gets your data beyond the processors listed above running the product itself.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Deleting a single language profile or your whole account (see Settings in the app) deletes the underlying data — it is not a soft hide.
Your rights
You can delete a single language profile or your entire account yourself, any time, from Settings inside the app. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete something we missed, by writing to the contact address below. If you're in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Age
Holt is for adults — signing up requires confirming you are 18 or older.
Changes to this policy
If this changes, we'll update the effective date above. Significant changes will be announced by email.
